Allow 600 yards of lace or fingering weight yarn for 16" x 64" scarf, or desired length with yardage adjustment. 4¾ stitches/inch, size US 6 / 4.0 mm needles suggested. Shown in Haneke merino/alpaca fingering yarn. Charted instructions.

Here is another model of the Light Up My Life Lace Scarf, this time knitted in handspun yarn. I sun-dyed merino fiber in subtle variegated dark jewel tones, then plyed with silk. You can't really see the slight variations in color in this picture, but the back-lighting captures the essence of "Light" for which the Light Up My Life Scarf is named.
